The Invasive Paper Project
This image shows three different vats of paper-making pulp made from invasive plants that were harvested from Detroit. Each plant requires a different type of processing method from cooking, to stripping, to grinding to make it into a pulp that can then be used for paper-making. The plants were removed from city parks or lots very carefully so as not to spread the species any further. The goal is to help remove the invasive species, rather than to exacerbate the problem.
