Landscapes for Later is about materials and the land from which we extract these materials. Many of the materials are discards, found in unwanted or cast-off landscapes from Michigan to New Mexico, whether they be “invasive” plants, car parts, or the tape we use to mark trees to be removed. I find hope in imagining new landscapes and ways of being that encompass the undesirable and complicated. Through this work, I am honoring both the beauty and challenge of how we tend our places and one another.
