Sculpture
Both of the materials in this sculpture are enacting changes on each other to create a dynamic piece. The concrete blocks are performing as a press, applying pressure to the rainbow-hued pulp that was installed in wet form, rendering sheets of paper over time. As the pulp dries and shrinks, it slowly shifts the position of the blocks, subtly changing the shape of the sculpture. This work engages the viewer in the act of papermaking at the pace of the sculpture's installation period.
